ICS to Attend 9th Annual Medicare Supplement Insurance Summit | ICS

ICS is dedicated to improving the quality of the services we provide to our customers. With our recent expansion into Medicare Supplement claims processing we felt it necessary to continue our education on the industry itself and better understand where it is heading. For that reason, ICS is happy to announce that it will be attending the 9th Annual Medicare Supplement Insurance Industry Summit in Dallas, TX April 11-13. We look forward to networking with industry leaders and taking a deeper dive into the Medicare Supplement (MediGap) insurance market to learn how ICS can continue to help insurance payers across the country.

Are 30% of Your Claims Causing 100% of Your Headaches? | ICS

If you currently, or have ever, worked in operations for a dental insurance company then you are most likely familiar with the pain that can be caused trying to process and pay a paper claim. Capturing and processing paper claims into a workable 837d can be a costly, inefficient, and labor dependent process, and it is unfortunately something almost all dental plans and payers still have to deal with today. As we are quickly approaching a new year, many of you industry vets may have been shocked to think that paper claim submissions would even still be a part of daily operations in 2017. Even through the tremendous growth and popularity that we have seen in EDI submissions, it has become evident that some providers just prefer to lick the envelope and mail that claim…about 30% of them to be exact.

Tackling Legacy K-12 Paper Records this Summer | ICS

While summer's a great time to relax and recover from the previous school year, savvy superintendents and directors of pupil personnel (DPPs) in Kentucky use the time to tackle legacy paper records, especially if you have a little extra budget.

  • If not addressed, student records, employee files, teacher certifications, invoices, and other business records sitting in your basement or mechanical shed represent a liability for every school district.
  • If successfully addressed, this liability goes away, along with filing cabinets and offsite storage, and school districts can gain hundreds of hours of productivity – and who couldn't use that?

Whatever your situation, scanning legacy paper records doesn't have to be a headache. Below are two headache-free options.

Claims Processing "Un-Touched" Rate of 16% Achieved

Claims Processing "Un-Touched" Rate of 16% Achieved | ICS

For one of the five Delta Dental affiliates we work with, we've recently doubled our "un-touched" rate from 8% to 16%.

Also referred to as "straight-through processing," un-touched rate refers to the ability to process a paper dental claim without the need for human intervention. This includes achieving 100% optical character recognition (OCR) rates and with 84% of claims meeting business rules (which will vary per organization).

It's important to note that this un-touched rate was achieved in preliminary testing, following our upgrade of their document scanning and capture software, EMC Captiva, from version 6.5 to 7.1. Our next step is to release Captiva 7.1 into production and see what un-touched rates are achieved then.

K-12 School Districts: New Customer

K-12 School Districts: New Customer | ICS

ICS is pleased to announce that we have brought on another Kentucky document scanning customer from the K-12 Education market. Last week, Hardin County Board of Education approved an RFP to be awarded to ICS as the best evaluated bid for digitizing student records that date back to the early 1900's. Like many school districts, Hardin County's needs were to secure older records that currently reside in paper-form from natural disaster.

Since paper is inefficient and extremely susceptible to damage, ICS will help Hardin County's School system decrease their dependency on paper by utilizing our high speed document scanning services to convert the paper records to electronic images with a quick turnaround. This will provide an additional back-up to the original files in case of disaster and also provide quicker access to the information contained within the records.

Customer Testimony: Delta Dental | ICS

"I just wanted to share some thoughts with you on what a wonderful team member you have in Beverly. She was such a instrumental part of this transition. It is apparent that all of the Delta plans (MI, TN & AR) have the utmost respect for her. Her knowledge of the system and ability to jump in to resolve issues quickly is one of the reasons we were able to have a smooth transition. I was very appreciative of her commitment to the project and the team."
